Participants in the Downtown Art Walk are The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Gallery at REDCAT, L.A. Artcore Center, de Soto, 2nd Street Cigars and Gallery, Art Slave, Morono Kiang Gallery, Continental, Taller 410, Museum of Neon Art, Crewest, Dale Youngman Gallery, LAMP Community Art Project, Pharmaka, Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, El Nopal Press, Bert Green Fine Art, Red Dot Gallery, Niche Video Art, The Spring Arts Collective Gallery, M. J. Higgins, Art Murmur Gallery, 626 Gallery, Infusion Gallery, Gallery 727, The Hive Gallery, groundfloor, Zero One Gallery, City Center Gallery, Dalessio, Gary Leonard, Grey Goose, and Gallery at 7th & Fig.
The FREE Art Walk DASH shuttle loops throughout Gallery Row on Art Walk nights from 7-10 pm, with the last bus leaving at 9:45 pm. The shuttle makes stops at most intersections on Spring and Main Streets from 2nd to 8th Streets as indicated on the Art Walk map. DASH shuttles will be hosted by local historians Mike the Poet (author of "I Am Alive in Los Angeles"), and Richard Schave of Esotouric, who will provide information to visitors on the history of downtown Los Angeles. Thanks to the Los Angeles Downtown Neighborhood Council for making this DASH service possible.
New in March:
Welcome to LAMP Community Art Project on Main Street and Gallery at REDCAT at Disney Hall to the Downtown Art Walk. The Rowan Lofts at 5th & Spring will host a special presentation: a four-screen projected outdoor video art installation, produced & curated by Niche Video Art, and an indoor show of Felipe Dupouy's downtown photography. Also occurring during the Downtown Art Walk is the Los Angeles Comedy Walk. Info at http://www.comedywalk.com.
The Downtown Art Walk is sponsored by Pete's Cafe & Bar, Pitfire Pizza, Bar 107, Rocket Pizza, Warung Café, Charlie O's Bar, Citizen LA and the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive by public transit, as the Art Walk is easily accessible by the Metro Red, Gold, and Blue line trains which run past midnight. Parking is plentiful in the areas many paid lots and garages, at meters on the street until 4 pm, and free after 6 pm on most streets. Once here, the DASH buses are an easy way to get around, and there is special evening shuttle service on Art Walk nights. Additional information including stop locations is available on the Art Walk map. The public may subscribe to the Downtown Art Walk announcement list at: DowntownLAArtWalk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
